Menu du jour | student edition

Tuesdays are a god sent day of no lectures which means 2 things: I live in my pijamas till about lunchtime and then I make things more adventurous than pasta or sandwiches.

I started an otherwise very procrastination-heavy morning with a fruity breakfast of Activia yogurt, Jordan's crunchy granola with strawberry bits (so tasty) and frozen cherries for some extra personality. I toped that off with the one and only Fortmason tea - yes, the kind I make a special trip to London to restock on.

Lunch was, however, the jewel in the crown. It was honestly a spontaneous creation - I mixed salad leaves with small pieces of boiled new potatoes, drizzled some olive oil on top, then scattered pieces of smoked salmon. Then came the oh-so-important student favorite avocado (honestly, the placebo effects of this miracle pear are second to none, it gives you such a good guilt-free feeling), a dollop of creme fraiche and a poached egg that I artistically cut a cross on to let the yolk run free. Safe to say, it was heaven in a bowl - can't wait for next Tuesday to recreate this!
