Out of office!

Bags are packed! Actually, by the time this goes up I'll be recovering from jetlag. Weeeelll, maybe I'm exaggerating, I don't even know if there's much of a time difference... we'll live, we'll see, we'll learn.
Caesar eat your heart out.

Anyway, this is the happy time of year, when I live mostly outdoors, sun shining, plenty of freshly squeezed fruit juices, crystal clear waters, in short, paradise. I'm a sucker for maps - I collect them from each place I liked. I also like to think the post survives because of my postcard sending to my friends...I'll be sponsored by the Royal Mail any day now.

This year I'm upping my own game with the Infinity Metallic Tattoos with Romanian ethnic motifs. I can't wait to share them and so much more (think volcano hike vues, bikini for days and lots and lots of food) on my Instagram account which you can find at ana.persinaru :)

And we're off again!

I'm trying to decide whether I like having my life neatly packed in one (huge) suitcase. I wouldn't necessarily classify myself as a materialistic person but damn is it hard to leave stuff behind. What if I'll suddenly decide to make that brigt pink jumper work while away? And what if I finally decide to start that novel that's been gathering dust on my nightstand?

Wednesday flatlay

I cannot stop recommending 'livingthehealthychoice's instagram, it's so inspiring! Asside from the pretty colours and amazing photographs, the recipes are super delicious AND healthy and I cannot wait to try this raw strawberry cake which I don't think involves baking. There's one less risk of it failing!

These are a life saver, especially during revision weeks. I got them on a whim from Wholefoods because they had a sale on but I've been hooked ever since. Each sachet contains green tea powder that you mix with cold water and voila, your super healthy drink is done! It contains 3 times the daily recommended amount of vitamin C as well as gives you so much energy. Testimonial here: history of art revision, jogging sesh, blogging and some french revision. Productive or what!

If you read Tanya Burr's blog as religiously as I do, you would have come across this product she mentioned a few months ago. I was instantly intrigued since I'm super scared of tanning products (ughhh, the shudder at those orange smears) but I am a lover of Clarins' ones. The conclusion is they cancel eachother out! It's not too expensive at 18 pounds but it's quite hard to get your hands on. I finally found a few bottles in Selfridges but I haven't seen them online anywhere. The formula is smooth and milky and it takes a few good hours for the colour to show. It's the perfect hint of a tan that on a pale skin like mine doesn't look too much or too fake, I love it. I'd recommend applying it about twice a week and don't forget to massage some onto the neck and chest too so it's all smooth and even.

Cutest present ever! Laduree+recipes+lifestyle tips on the lines of 'leave your pearls out so they absorb the moisture in the air and keep their lustre' (pff, as if I had pearls :)) )=me in a nutshell

These beauties...just perfect! I can't wait to do a post on these, I can just see them working perfectly with boyfriend jeans for a 'off-duty-artist' look or with a lacey flowery skirt to cut the sweetness short.

If you guys have any suggestions for amazing products/things you tried and loved, do feel encouraged to share ^.^

Ode to Daffodils

That's right, I keep all this random stuff in my bike basket.
As a variation of the spring flatlay, I decided to switch it up and do an outdoorsy shoot of some of my recent favorites, one of which is this month's Conde Nast Traveller magazine.

I've been craving to be a tourist again for a while and this is just what the doctor ordered when you feel like you need to escape that dreaded routine.

I had a little (big, actually) shopping spree after my mocks and did some damage in & Other stories with this colour-of-the-year nail polish in 'Ecarlate Pink', a stretchy blue bracelet and a Lara Melchior ring and long necklace.

These hedgehog stuff-s are from Blott in Cambridge, the best stationary shop for hedgehog enthusiasts.

This wallet from Bimba y Lola I shall call my baby...I have been looking for one for ages and this is in neoprene so it's easy to clean but also looks classy!

Finally, my favorite Lush product as of January is the Blackberry Bath Bomb which I cannot get enough of: it smells of sweet, floral purple, that's the best I can describe it as ^.^

Have a lovely start to spring!

Wednesday flatlay

Trying to kill some of the mid-week blues? Or just feel like studying is a bit of a life-drainer, as I do? Here's an aesthetically pleasing pile of things I've loved in the past weeks.

Can we take a moment and swoon over this beauty? An 18th birthday present, I waited for 4 weeks (that's half a century in my patience-o-meter) to have it tightened but now it is, as Chandler would put it, 'perfection'. Plus, it's my first diamond ring and arguably the most mature piece of jewellery. Now I can trick people into thinking I'm engaged...I'm pretty sure that's what the sales person thought when he said 'Congratulations!'

One of the best finds of the winter sales season was this little gem of a perfume from Anthropologie. Originally though it was from an American brand called Ineke who have a really unique and fun (as this photo above proves) approach to their fragrances. I chose the Angel's Trumpet scent which is the most delicate floral, slightly sweet slightly fresh smell I've tried. And it doesn't smell like chemicals either, which is a big turn off when I buy perfumes.

My saviour of chapped lips. I'm almost too scared to say that this might be discontinued from the Lush range. It's a little (tiny actually) pot of crushed granulated sugar that tastes like chocolate and that leaves your lips flake free and covered in some miracle hydrating layer. What more can you want?
Ah good news! It's not discontinued and you can find it HERE

In the spirit of introducing you to exotic new things, here's the Romanian brand Herbagen that makes a slightly strange looking cream that leaves your face looking very pale but which, in hindsight, does the job pretty well!

Let's put some culture in the mix too! I've been enjoying Evelyn Waugh's sort of study/autobiography of the absurd behaviour and scandalous parties of the Bright Young Things of the 1920s. The subject and time period seemed very appealing and I wasn't disappointed. It's one of those get-up-in-the-morning-and-can't-resist-reading-it. And everyone needs one of those...

Finally, possibly the most exciting sale purchase. A Victoria's Secret robe in silk with the signature pink and white stripes. It was love at first sight for only 13 pounds and honestly, it boosts your confidence by 150%!
