Organic home-made scrub 'recipe'

Why spend serious money on organic and handmade body scrubs when you can top that - in your own kitchen even!

Time to think of summer!

Oysho bikini (HERE); Victoria's Secret Linen Beach Trousers (HERE); Asos body chain (HERE); River Island sunnies (HERE); Nivea in shower moisturiser (HERE)

Dreaming of my impending trip to the sandy beaches, I cannot wait! I'm very into the blue and yellow combination for bikinis, I think it looks very flattering even when you haven't quite gotten enough of a tan.
The other thing I know I'll be relying on is the Nivea moisturiser, it's truly a life saver! You know that feeling when you're just too lazy and too in rush to properly massage body lotion into your skin only to have your cold shirt stick to the cream? Yep, nothing to do with this one! You simply apply on clean skin and rinse off and you're left with about 12 hours' worth of smooth skin, fragrant with the signature Nivea smell (they do have other scents too)!

Avocado cult club

People wait for half terms and holidays to catch up on sleep and the all so vital social life. In my case, add a good dose of cooking! I just love taking the time to make myself healthy meals or snacks and the satisfaction at the end of it is worth the burnt frying pans that I invariably have to scrub afterwards.

Case in point, a spur of the moment superfood salad inspired (but reworked to suit the stuff left over in the fridge) by the Honey Chipotle Chicken Bowls by howsweeteats.com which you can see by clicking HERE.

I adapted the recipe and to a handfull of quinoa cooked with zest from half a lemon and some butter, I  added a chicken breast glazed with a little honey and rosemary. The rest includes an avocado, a chopped pepper, a bunch of roughly chopped parsley, toasted pine nuts and sliced cherry tomatoes with chives.

Lighting was not on my side and so some pictures might not do it justice but damn was it a good lunch!

Pre-beach detox recipe

Not to make you jealous or anything but when you'll be reading this post, chances are I'll either be tanning the melanin out of me on the boat deck or having some local food in a cute Croatian village. Either one of the two, I'm not picky.

However, this much amount of relaxation requires some preparation and for me, it took the shape of this drink. It's an easy summer recipe for a fresh drink that you drink from dusk till dawn.

You have to make it in the evening and leave it to infuse over night. In the morning, just pour some of it in a glass, add some more water and then jazz it up however you want - I chose strawberries but any floating fruit will do I guess.

The ingredients are:
Some sliced cucumber (I used approximately half)
Some thinly sliced ginger root (as per taste - I just ripped a section off then sliced it)
The juice of a lime and then put the skin in there as well
Chopped mint
Some water - just enough to cover all the ingredients

And that's it! The most refreshing summer drink ever and a great energizer too.

Bon appetit!
