It pains me to tell you that I was feeling like taking some outfit photos and so afterwards, I was left all dressed up with my hair done and a full face of makeup and no idea where to go out!

Anthropologie sale gems
These boots are absolute heaven! Bought them at a 50% off sale in Anthropologie from the brand H by Hudson. They are a dream to walk in, despite the 7.5 cm heel and the ballet like square front is actually surprisingly comfortable.
They are the perfect quirky formal boots and I'm so glad I found them in burgundy because it would make for a nice contrast with black and white outfits. Not to mention the burgundy coat and bags I own, tokens of my obsession with the beautiful red hue.
Find the boots HERE.

Discover: Thursley Nature Reserve
There's no more relaxing thing to do on a weekend when you feel like a pick-me-up (other than shopping hehe) than to turn your phone off and enjoy the sun, the air and the open landscape extending further than your laptop screen.
As a suggestion for a day out of London, I recommend Thursley Nature Reserve, a mix in between marshland, open fields and a sort of plank-walkway that reminded me of Scandinavian beaches.

Book review: Vile Bodies by Evelyn Waugh
It's been a while since I couldn't let a book down. Weighed down by various (sometimes) tedious Austens or Stokers that would no let me have a good night's sleep, Evelyn Waugh's book was a well deserved break.
The novel was written in the 1930s and centres on the Bright Young Things, a sort of not-so-secret sorority in London between the two wars who had a very outrageous lifestyle and a sort of 'whatever' attitude to life.
As you can already tell, it's extremely amusing. Don't be put off the slightly strange allegoric introduction, it gets better and it makes sense as you go along. The novel was strikingly modern for the time but still the age-old romantic backdrop resisted. Although the focus shifts on various characters, the will-they-won't-they engagement of Adam and Nina keeps popping up. In their way there also appear a myriad of comic situations and strange characters that create the weirdest of situations.
If you have some sort of aversion towards overly descriptive books, fear not. This one is mainly based on dialogue, and, more interestingly, almost all of it takes place on the telephone. Perhaps it has a more gossipy tone which goes well with the otherwise gossipy novel; in fact, Waugh himself worked for the first social gossip column in English newspapers.
So, if you need a Marie Antoinette by Sofia Coppola-style pick me up book with humour but also a bit of a moralising message, this should be a contented on the list!

William Curley 5 course desert bar
If you're looking for a classy little place to celebrate, the William Curley desert bar in Belgravia should be a contender on your list. Although we had to wait for quite a while, we were lucky to sit at the actual bar rather than at tables which I highly recommend since you can see how they prepare everything.
The concept itself is very original - a set 5 course menu of different deserts with a drink or glass of champagne. When the little plates come up, a knowledgeable chef will inform you of the ingredients and aim of the desert. Sounds very scientific but I promise you the chocolate and vanilla will make it all very simple!

Friday's always on my mind
Hello readers (!) and happy Wednesday to you all. In an attempt to cure the mid week blues dominated by the upcoming weekend that, let's be honest, we are all waiting for, I'm providing you some eye candy.
Note, my desk is usually a complete mess and these photos are meant to fool you otherwise. It was a perfect excuse to use my new Nikon on which I will do a post soon ^.^

Bursting the Tea's Bubble
I'm keeping this post short and sweet since it's past midnight and I now have a fear of darkness and space thanks to 'Gravity' (if you see it in 3D you will basically die in the first 10 minutes).
A good few weeks ago I visited Shoreditch for the first time and was pleasantly surprised, although the tube ride was a bit of a hike. Nice markets (comparable to Notting Hill), great for music 'explorers' on the hunt for bands and genres you have never heard of and my first bubble tea experience at Milk Tea & Pearl. I definitely recommend the blossom tea with lychee beads things, although to this day I can't quite explain the concept of bubble tea.
