Don't take this the wrong way but...

When did Photobooth photos become a 'guilty' pleasure? Oh wait...have they never been socially acceptable past the age of 12?

Making an effort for fall

Dressing for the ocassion on a busy day of lectures, supervision and procrastination. Doesn't that sound glam?

Grandpa chic

Some kind of cool autumn outfit

Thanks to this shirt and cardigan combo I will look like a professor's assistant. Just the look I was going for. Anyway, this is my dream outfit: the soft pinks in the shirt, necklace and trousers is just up my street and that cardigan is the most versatile thing I have which is a good thing since I got it with my own money and if I put something on ebay again which I haven't worn once I'm starting a shopping ban. It's that out of hand.

Brown leaves everywhere!!

Autumn fashion

The perfect autumn day implied a cute fall outfit. Look around any fashion website or magazine and you'll see celebrities nonchalantly donned in Burberry's monogrammed ponchos that do look nice but carry an equally pretty price tag.

Anthropologie sale gems

These boots are absolute heaven! Bought them at a 50% off sale in Anthropologie from the brand H by Hudson. They are a dream to walk in, despite the 7.5 cm heel and the ballet like square front is actually surprisingly comfortable.

They are the perfect quirky formal boots and I'm so glad I found them in burgundy because it would make for a nice contrast with black and white outfits. Not to mention the burgundy coat and bags I own, tokens of my obsession with the beautiful red hue.

Royal Academy Daumier exhibition

Excuse the very bad exposure of these photos; they were taken with my phone in shade...not the best I have to say.

This was some time back in October/November and the weather permitted my wearing the extremely mini tartan skirt from actual Scotland (that I shortened...oops) -similar HERE- with a slouchy Benetton jumper, Uniqlo men's sheepskin coat -only instore- and my beloved & Other Stories Bag -in black HERE. All items are linked, so click on them if you're interested.

The Royal Academy is always a good trip out - an obligatory stop at Laduree to sample the new collection, hot chocolate from next to the Le Meridien and off course ART! This time was the turn of French 19th century cartoonist Daumier. I loved the way the exhibition was set up but I wasn't completely won over by the actual exhibits...maybe next time!

What interesting exhibitions have you been to recently, I'm looking for inspiration ^.^

French brand of the month

I'm so happy I finally got round to sharing this on my blog! In short, in February of this year I heard of a new French brand - and knowing how obsessed I am with all things French, I just had to go there. This wondrous company goes by the name of Kure Bazzar and they're a environment and human friendly nail varnish brand.

I was instantly hooked by the 'non toxic' tag line because my nails are both fragile and easily stained so I kinda have a nightmare when removing nail polish. Kure Bazaar stated to go against artificial nail polish and I was very intrigued to say the least because how else can you make nail polish other than with chemicals?
Well, apparently there are other ways! For example, mixing wood pulp with potatoes, corn, cotton and wheat, how come no one ever though of that before eh?

Slightly odd ingredients aside, this nail polish really does the job! It's shiny and does not stain or fatigue the nails and the staying power is similar to OPI nail polishes. What really does it for me though is the colour range...I mean, they are the prettiest most chic shades I have ever seen.

Until know I've only bought two shades, Rosemilk which is a ballerina white with pink tones and Bohemian which is the ultimate fall shade in a red, coppery, dead-leaves colour. I shall let the photos speak for themselves and you are most welcome! :)

The rest of the collection includes:

If you don't get the shopping itch, I don't know what more I can say! In the UK, these are available to buy from Selfridges but there's a more extensive list up on their website which you can access by clicking HERE.

Bag heaven

Yes, this typically Made in Chelsea fence shot is here to artistically announce the coming of fall on Le periple.
I'm very excited. Autumn is my favorite season, with the cosy (flaw-covering) knitwear, comfy boots and my beloved scarfs. See, bags don't seem to creep onto my list. Not because I don't love them, definitely not, but because I only have a few basics - black shopper for winter, beige shopper for summer, a red rucksack and a small navy messenger bag.

This is all about to change. I'm sorry bank account but I need some bag personality to be going on. And I think I'm already on track with my new & Other Stories metallic bag. I love it so much, it's the perfect mix of colour and wearablity, of daytime cool and night-time sleek and those 3 compartments... the dream of an organisation freak like me!

My collaboration with folklorique

Just a quick update/ revealing of a little collaboration I did with the lovely folklorique blog.

I absolutely enjoyed writing for Ina, the blogger behind it all, about how to wear folk inspired fashion from 5 high street shops. It was certainly something new for me and god only knows how many hours it took me to get the photoshop collages right, but nonetheless it made the finished product that more rewarding.

If you have a few minutes to spare, click HERE to read it and maybe leave a comment saying which one you liked best! :)
