Fashion is a work of art

I cannot express the amount of love I have for my new bag! I did a little impromptu balcony photo shoot in a spring inspired outfit to showcase it best but the changing light was just not on my side.

My outfit consists of a last season Massimo Dutti mint green shirt, a Benetton knitted long jumper, Oliver Bonas feather necklace and black leggings. The tan-peach Gianni Conti bag did most of the talking though.

I got it from the Cambridge TKMaxx...I was meant to be at a post offer open day but somehow ended up doing a little shopping, that never happens! (sense the sarcasm) I really recommend it for bags, they have a great selection. I can see it being filled with tons of books, folders and my laptop for a day around campus or as a weekend bag because it can fit a whole three outfits which is a real feat.

My new favorite gadget: room humidifier

My recent bout of pneumonia had some good come out of it; with the cough and everything, I needed a room humidifier and found this one. Safe to say, the best tech purchase ever.

Let's just take a moment to appreciate the shape like a druid's potion. Plus, it lights up. I mean, as far as the design is concerned, it was love at first sight.
It has several light settings as well as 3 power levels depending on how much steam you want coming off - you can change everything from the power control buttons.

Inside, it has a 0.3 litter reservoir you fill with water. It's surprisingly small but lasts about 6 hours continuously.

This is now my favorite part: the humidifier can work with aromatherapy oils too, making your room smell amazing. So not only it humidifies and purifies the air, but it also acts like a candle without the extra heat.

I chose the Jasmine and De-Stress Jasmine and Lavander oils from the Absolute Aromas range you can find in Whole Foods or any other Holistic remedy shop. They're also great for scented baths, massages etc so it's a good investment.
Only a few drops in the little water reservoir -not the tank- are enough to scent the vapour.

If you're looking for a room humidifier or just a healthier alternative to candles, this is a one stop choice! Find it HERE.

Royal Academy Daumier exhibition

Excuse the very bad exposure of these photos; they were taken with my phone in shade...not the best I have to say.

This was some time back in October/November and the weather permitted my wearing the extremely mini tartan skirt from actual Scotland (that I shortened...oops) -similar HERE- with a slouchy Benetton jumper, Uniqlo men's sheepskin coat -only instore- and my beloved & Other Stories Bag -in black HERE. All items are linked, so click on them if you're interested.

The Royal Academy is always a good trip out - an obligatory stop at Laduree to sample the new collection, hot chocolate from next to the Le Meridien and off course ART! This time was the turn of French 19th century cartoonist Daumier. I loved the way the exhibition was set up but I wasn't completely won over by the actual exhibits...maybe next time!

What interesting exhibitions have you been to recently, I'm looking for inspiration ^.^

Friday's always on my mind

Hello readers (!) and happy Wednesday to you all. In an attempt to cure the mid week blues dominated by the upcoming weekend that, let's be honest, we are all waiting for, I'm providing you some eye candy.

Note, my desk is usually a complete mess and these photos are meant to fool you otherwise. It was a perfect excuse to use my new Nikon on which I will do a post soon ^.^

L'île flottante

Sudden realisation that I hadn't posted on my weekend in Paris from December! I don't quite know how to forgive myself so I don't expect you to but maybe, just maybe, the photos will make up for it. In all honesty, is a reason really necessary when talking about Paris?

Our room on the 4th floor of Hotel du Levant in the Quartier Latin - the full French expecience of narrow streets

Our beloved means of transport

Monument de la Bastille, where the fortress used to be

Narnia-like entrance to Place des Vosges

The exclusive shopping streets of Les Marais

You probably can't guess but my attire for the weekend was a Mango sweatshirt that said 'PARIS' in black sequins. How to show you're a tourist and you love Paris with one simple statement.
